EUROPEAN WEEK FOR WASTE REDUCTION: 21 TO 29 NOVEMBER 2015

Posted on 10/30/2015
The aim of the Week is to raise everyone's awareness of the need to reduce the amount of waste generated, and to provide the keys to taking action on a daily basis, whether at home, in the office or at school, when shopping or even when doing DIY.
The concept of the Week is based on preventing waste , i.e. before it is produced, because the best waste is that which is not produced!
Waste prevention means taking action to avoid producing waste by consuming better (using products with less packaging and eco-labelling), producing better (producing eco-designed products), extending the life of products (repairing and donating) and throwing away less (composting, for example)!
The Week is aimed at public authorities, associations, schools and the general public. Everyone can take action!
The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), which is part of the national campaign to reduce waste, is a great opportunity to get everyone involved. It even extends beyond our borders: the Week is also organised in Europe, where almost 12,000 actions have been organised in over 23 countries.
